Optional courses

The optional courses will provide an in-depth dive into the role of international commercial arbitration and investment arbitration in the settlement of international disputes. The courses will put into perspective the tools or central issues of international arbitration, through a comparative approach, for example concerning the arbitration agreement, the determination of the law applicable to international contracts or the enforcement of arbitral awards. The contextualization of arbitration will also be achieved through an thorough study of the use of alternative solutions: international business litigation, transactional agreements through assisted negotiation processes (mediation, conciliation, etc.) between the parties. Finally, the substantial protection of foreign investments will be envisaged in particular through the evolution of the protection regime in relation to the steps taken by the European Union and its Member States.

Each student will choose two of the three specialization courses offered during Fall and Spring semesters.
