What are the strengths of the LL.M. AWArDS?

The LL.M. AWArDS, which is held entirely in English and is devoted to international (commercial and investment) arbitration and the settlement of international commercial disputes, is an ideal combination of lectures given by academics specializing in arbitration or international litigation, as well as experienced and renowned practitioners. With the support of this high-quality teaching team, the lectures will be divided into core courses on arbitration, specialization courses, including courses on some of the major sectors involved in international arbitration and dispute resolution, elective courses and practical workshops.

Offered in Paris, the historical heart of the development of international arbitration, in close proximity to the main European arbitration institutions, to the best practitioners and specialized academics who have contributed to the worldwide reputation of international arbitration and its law, the LL.M. will also rely on the contribution of foreign academics and practitioners, in particular through various conferences.

Who can apply?

The selected students will either be:

  • Holders of Master's degree in Law awarded by a non-French University (or equivalent) (for example, in business law, contract law or civil business law, private international law or international trade law) and wishing to further develop their grasp of the law of international arbitration ;
  • USA, Australia (etc.) : Students who are enrolled in or have completed their 2nd or 3rd year of legal training (JD) ;
  • Practitioners or academics with at least two years' experience, wishing to acquire new skills outside their current field of activity or wishing to further their training in their current field of business ;
  • Students admitted under a specific partnership concluded between Panthéon-Assas University and a foreign university.

What are the career opportunities?

Graduates of the LL.M. AWArDS are mainly destined to practice in the departments specializing in the practice of international arbitration and dispute resolution in international law firms, but also in niche law firms. They will also be able to join the legal department of companies frequently confronted with these international procedures, as well as the services of certain specialized institutions. One of the objectives of the training is, where appropriate, to enable foreign students to contribute to the development of the practice of international arbitration and the settlement of international disputes in their home country.
